My Feelings
Year 1 learn to name feelings and understand that feelings come and go.
# My Feelings
In Year 1 PSHE we learn that everyone has feelings and that all feelings are okay.
Naming Feelings
There are many feelings: happy, sad, angry, scared, excited, calm and more. Naming a feeling is the first step to understanding it. You can show feelings with your face and body too.
Feelings Come and Go
Feelings do not stay forever. You might feel sad in the morning and happy by lunchtime. Knowing that feelings change helps when a big feeling arrives.
What Helps
When a tricky feeling comes, a cuddle, a breath, or talking to someone you trust can help. Doing something you enjoy can also change how you feel.
Being Kind
If you see someone looking sad, a kind word or a smile can help them. Treating others the way you would like to be treated is a good rule to follow.
