Team Games and Fair Play
Year 5 learn teamwork, tactics, rules and sportsmanship in team games.
# Team Games and Fair Play
In Year 5 we learn how to play team games well, not just how to win.
Roles in a Team
In a team game each player has a job. Some players attack and some defend. Knowing your role helps the team work together.
Rules and Fair Play
Rules keep a game fair and safe. Fair play means following the rules, respecting the referee and accepting decisions, even ones you disagree with. A good sport is gracious in winning and losing.
Tactics
A tactic is a plan to help your team score or stop the other team scoring. Passing quickly, finding space and marking an opponent are all simple tactics.
Sportsmanship
After a game, shake hands and say well played. How you behave in a game matters as much as the score.
